Harsens Island Bean

Description

This is a very rare pole bean from Harsens Island, a small island in Lake St. Clair, located on the US/Canadian border. The bean has been grown on the island for the last 45 years, if not longer! This is a wildly productive variety that produces oodles of 8-10 inch beans on vigorous vines that require sturdy trellising. A very special Michigan heirloom – and one of our new favorite beans! Very rare.
